A WEEK IN CARTAGENA, COLOMBIA

Seeing South America for the first time was something I was recently able to check off my bucket list, and wow did it not disappoint. I truly do not know why I had never been, especially since Colombia is such a beautiful and diverse country ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ด.

Highlights of the trip: we saw Colombia through the eyes of locals on the back of their motorbikes, explored underground tunnels from the 17th century (with lots of bats), island-hopped, practiced acro-yoga for the first time, and spoke lots and lots of Spanish with the kindest locals. Even when we thought the trip was over and our flight got delayed 24 hours coming back, we met the most incredible people along the way and had the best time out of whatโ€™s supposed to be an unfortunate situation. Iโ€™m so grateful for my travel buddy Allison for being the best person I couldโ€™ve experienced this continent with for the first time! Iโ€™m ready for another South American adventure โœŒ๏ธ

Iโ€™m currently working on putting together the perfect itinerary for Cartagena, so stay tuned! In the meantime, check out some of the photos from our trip below. I also create a highlight on my Instagram of all the best recs I have for Cartagena!

Make sure to save time to visit neighboring islands. We spent 2 days on La Isla de Tierra Bomba at the Blue Apple Beach House and even spent some time wandering the island with some locals!
